Add Virtual Machine to Inventory - VMware ESXi 4.0

Let's say you have a copy of a Virtual Machine on disk and need to bring it only using the VSphere Client. You uploaded the VM using the Datastore browser and now you need to add this new VM to the ESXi Host Inventory

1. Start the VSphere Client
2. Click on the your Host Server
3. Click on the Configuration tab
4. Right click on your Datastore and select Browse Datastore
5. Right click on the VMX file and select Add to Inventory
6. Type a valid name for your new VM and click Next
7. Select your host in the resource pool and click Finish
